Siri is the voice command unit that is built into your iPod, iPhone and iPad. It can answer your questions, setup reminders, show you what movies and playing in the theatres nearby and even text people for you, among other things. If you use Siri a lot, you may get tired of hearing the same voice over and over, luckily it’s really easy to change the default voice that Siri uses.

How to Change Siri’s Voice

How do I change the voice that siri uses

Changing Siri’s voice or language is actually really easy, and there a quite a few different voices to choose from:

  1. Open Settings on your iOS devices.
  2. General
  3. Siri
  4. Language

If you are reading this article, it’s very likely that you speak English, so I’ll just quickly go over the English options. The English (Australia) option is a woman with an Australian accent, the United Kingdom option is a man with a British accent. The US and Canada options sound pretty identical and use a woman’s voice. Although the Canadian voice should really say “Eh” more often, Eh?

Why is it that only the British option uses a male voice?

Also, quick tip, if Siri is having problems understanding what you are saying it may help to change voice settings.

The languages that you can choose from are:

  • Chinese (Cantonese -Hong Kong)
  • Chinese (Mandarin – China)
  • Chinese (Mandarin – Taiwan)
  • English (Australia)
